welcome
Hi, my name is Garry Burden.
I am a web designer/developer, based in West London, who has been working in the field for over 10 years. This site is a showcase of some of the work I have produced in the areas on website design, construction and project management.
about
Unlike most web designers I come from a background in product design, giving me a different perspective to those who have come from a print or graphics background.
My particular strengths are in interface construction.
I have extensive knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Jquery and use the all too good effect.
In addition to my web design skills I have worked in other areas of computer graphics such as 3D modelling and animation.
Where possible I like to work on projects that combine these different skills.
I believe that good web design is not just about pretty graphics or clever, quirky animations, like all design it should be about the solution to problems.
A well designed website is not only a visual experience, it must be a tool for accessing strong, relevant content, in a form which is easily navigated.

Charing Cross Sports Club has recently spent a substantial amount of money on improving the facilities of the club and on a number of new marketing schemes and promotions. To back up this recent investment they required a website to provide their members with information about the changes and to attract new members.
I was solely responsible for all stages of this project. From the initial development of the site structure and organization of the content in association with the sports clubs management, through to the maintenance and administration of the site now it is live. As well as the recent work that has been carried out on the site I have managed there websites for 10 years.

Cahoot is an on-line banks which is a division of Santander UK plc. They have won a number of awards for the functionality and aesthetic value of the site.
I have worked as a contractor to the design team, supporting them with new projects that arise, although my main duties were to implement the ongoing changes that needed to be made. This can take the form of creating images through to editing code for layout and text changes.
